Tonight there was an interesting phenomenon going on in the chilly air. If you lived in South-western VA you may have seen a halo around the moon. No it's not a sign of apocalyptic doom, it's caused by tiny ice crystals high in the atmosphere and it indicates nearby storms.
Still learning how to use my new camera, maybe next time I'll be able to get a better shot of the halo!
