I did a quick peek at my hive and look what I may have found...
Could this be my new queen?! She's so much darker than my old queen! She also has a bit of growing to do as well.
I am getting comfortable enough for quick inspections at least, to go into the hive without a suit or smoker. I have to be careful and go slow anyway because of the top bars. They aren't as durable as regular Langstroth hives. But the ease in which I do my inspections also makes for calm bees. No laughing at my hat either! It keeps the wrinkles off my face!
